Yoga / Prenatal & Childbirth Education
Assistant Director Jenny Everett King,CYT, is Healing Hands Chiropractic’s Body-Mind Wellness Program Director, head yoga teacher, and childbirth educator. Her faith in the power of the mind-body connection is the core of her approach to Healing Hands’ esteemed classes and workshops.
In 2002, Jenny graduated magna cum laude from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies in the Great Books, a branch of the college’s Philosophy department. Soon after college, she moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she studied Iyengar yoga intensively under Sara Azarius and several other prominent teachers in the Iyengar system, including Lois Steinberg and Manouso Manos. She is an ExpertRating Certified Yoga Teacher at the Expert level, and continues to study various hatha yoga styles and practices.
During her teacher training, Jenny chose to specialize in yoga for women’s health concerns. She has studied and worked extensively with yoga practices for adolescence, PMS, pregnancy, and menopausal symptoms, as well as yoga therapy for anxiety and depression. While she continues to work with a wide variety of populations, her passion is for teaching yoga for health and wellness to women at all stages of life.
Jenny and her husband have two young children, both born naturally with midwives attending. Jenny has used her dual interests in yoga and holistic family wellness to develop Healing Hands Chiropractic’s prenatal workshop series. In 2008 she became a certified childbirth educator through the Cambridge, MA-based ALACE organization (now the International Birth and Wellness Project), and is currently pursuing an Dual Childbirth Educator certification with CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association).
Jenny is a member of the American Pregnancy Association, as well as the Manchester Young Professionals Network, the New Hampshire Birth Network, and the Association of Independent Childbirth Educators.
