Pregnancy & Childbirth
We are a member of the American Pregnancy Association.
Expecting a baby is, for many parents, a time of great excitement, anticipation, and pride. It can also be filled with anxiety, questions, and even a little (or a lot of) fear. The mission of Healing Hands Chiropractic’s pregnancy and childbirth workshops is to ease your fears and anxieties about pregnancy, birth, and parenting; help you find answers to your questions; and give you the opportunity to have a confident, empowering, fulfilling childbearing experience.
Two of our six workshops (Healthy Mom, Healthy Baby and Know Your Options) are designed for parents planning to conceive in the near future and those who are in their first trimester of pregnancy. Topics covered in these workshops include:
- Nutrition for optimal health & complication prevention
- Safe exercise habits
- Choosing the right practitioners for you
- Understanding prenatal testing
- Physical, emotional, and sexual changes during pregnancy
- Fetal development
Four of our workshops (Am I in Labor, Love Your Birth, Informed Choices, and Life Postpartum) are geared toward parents in the last trimester of pregnancy and preparing for birth. You may choose one or more workshops as a supplement to another childbirth class you have taken, or attend all four birth workshops for a comprehensive childbirth class series. Topics covered in this series include:
- Physiology of normal birth
- Understanding medical interventions / Informed decision-making
- Coping methods for pain, both natural and medical
- Positions for labor and birth
- Preventing pregnancy and birth complications
- Newborn appearance, behavior and concerns
- Postpartum family life
- Breastfeeding & attachment parenting

What Sets Us Apart
We offer some of the only classes in the greater Manchester and Nashua areas that are not affiliated with a specific hospital. Our independence allows us to work for you, the parent, rather than an institution. While some hospital-sponsored birth classes may cost a bit less, we believe that parents benefit significantly from the independent nature of our classes.
We also offer some of the only pre-conception and early pregnancy classes in the region. We believe that many childbirth classes are a case of “too little, too late,” and that parents deserve the option of educating themselves about pregnancy matters early in the childbearing year.
